Yes Linux is better at some things and can be lighter and is great for giving old laptops a new lease of life at home BUT software in business is generally still Windows based and Windows is what is required, no amount of wishful thinking or slagging off is going to change that. There are teams of people ready to help with any problem you have. There are quite literally more people working to make it secure than to tear it down. Linux, is based on an ever evolving kernel. They want you to use it because it's a better product, and a better choice. If pc gaming weren't still so heavily dependent on Windows, I guarantee that their market share would drop like a stone.
If Windows were getting better, why are the numbers of successful viruses, bugs, glitches, and adware increasing in number? Why are they changing the UI so much if it's getting better? If Windows is getting so secure and perfect, why does Microsoft recommend antivirus IN ADDITION to Windows Defender? Because it's junk. Microsoft Windows is outdated trashware used by MS to spy on your browsing and usage habits, then sell that info to the highest bidder. I'd recommend a nice, lightweight distribution. On a gig of RAM, and on a POS system, you want Linux.
